GaDOE Longitudinal Data System & Teacher Resource Link Information
The LDS and TRL allow teachers to see multiple years of academic and attendance history of students in their classes. They can use this information to customize instruction based upon student needs and assign student work from thousands of standard-aligned resources. The following resources provide more information about the systems and instructions for educators to use them.
 
 

Training Documents
 
On-line support and training to assist teachers as they use SLDS. A series of concise interactive online modules take new users through the steps for making the best use of the powerful data SLDS brings to Georgia's citizens and educators.

This is a guide for someone who will be using the School and/or District level LDS dashboards (not for training someone else).

Organizations with Helpful Digital Learning Information

Digital Learning Now! - a national campaign, led by former Governors Jeb Bush (R-FL) and Bob Wise (D-WV), to advance policies that will create a high quality digital learning environment to better prepare students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in college and careers.

Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation - a nonprofit organization founded by the authors of Disrupting Class to research how "disruptive innovation" through technology will transform how students learn.

iNACOL (International Association for K-12 Online Learning) - a nonprofit organization that facilitates collaboration, advocacy, and research to enhance quality K-12 online teaching and learning.

Project RED - a national campaign to help schools implement education technology in the classroom, particularly 1:1 initiatives. The website includes case studies, implementation steps, and tools for districts and schools.

The Learning Accelerator - a national nonprofit with the goal of accelerating the transition to high quality blended learning in schools and districts. The website includes the Blended Learning Implementation Guide 2.0 for districts and schools planning to transition to blended learning. It also includes helpful case studies on successful blended learning implementation.

 

Digital Learning Classroom Tools

Georgia Public Broadcasting Education - provides free professional development, interactive learning activities, and videos for Georgia students and teachers.

Learn Zillion - provides free Common Core-aligned video lessons, slides, and guided practice for teachers, parents, and students.

Educreations - a free recordable interactive whiteboard that functions with its iPad app or any flash-supported web browser that captures a teacher’s voice and handwriting to produce video lessons that can be shared online.

Espark - a free iPad app that diagnoses a student’s learning level, enables them to set academic goals in areas of growth, recommends educational apps, games, and podcasts tailored to the students’ needs, and reports progress to teachers and parents.

Mastery Connect - allows teachers to track student mastery of Common Core Standards, share common assessments, and collaborate with other teachers through a learning community. Fee-based options provide reports for students, parents, schools, and districts, exporting, and further collaboration tools.

CK-12 - provides free STEM digital resources for students and teachers, including digital textbooks, videos, flashcards, and diagnostic quizzes.
