About the Innovation Fund Foundation, Inc.

During the 2013 session, HB283 was passed and signed into law giving the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement the authority to establish a non-profit corporation. GOSA established the Innovation Fund Foundation. Inc. (Foundation) in 2013.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and received tax-exempt status from the IRS in November 2015.
The purpose of the Innovation Fund Foundation, Inc. is to support the work of the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.  The Foundation provides financial support for innovation by matching private donations with state-appropriated dollars. The Foundation promotes innovation in the State of Georgia through the Innovation Fund in the areas of applied learning, early literacy, blended learning, and teacher/leader development in high-need schools. In addition, it provides support for the Governor’s Honors Program (GHP), a statewide residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students.
The Foundation has a nine person Board of Directors representing various professions and areas of the state.  The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing Foundation operations, establishing the strategic direction, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements, and keeping the Foundation financially healthy. The Board Members are:
