GOSA Releases Innovation in Teaching Resources

September 30, 2014

The Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) has released online videos, unit plans, and supplementary materials featuring the 2013-2014 winners of the Innovation in Teaching Competition. The Innovation in Teaching Competition began as part of Georgia’s Race to the Top plan to create and support highly-effective teachers. The competition has two main goals.  The first is to recognize and reward educators from across our state who are using innovative strategies in teaching state standards. The second is to make videos of the winning teachers, along with their unit plans and supplementary materials, available to all Georgia educators.

Videos, unit plans, and supplementary materials from winners of the Innovation in Teaching Competition are now available on GeorgiaStandards.org.  These resources represent a variety of grade levels and innovative strategies, from project-based and applied learning to differentiated small group instruction and creative classroom management techniques. All of the resources are real unit plans created by real teachers, and are designed to help teachers implement state standards in their classrooms.

New materials will be posted on GeorgiaStandards.org throughout the 2014-15 school year.
