Inexperienced Leaders (FTE)

"Inexperienced" is defined as having less than four consecutive years being reported as a leader. Leaders are reported in terms of FTE (full-time equivalent) calculated by an individual's total time in a school as captured through Fall and Spring CPI data collections. FTE should be counted in hundredths. For example, if a leadership position is filled by four people, each working the same amount of time, each person would count as 0.25 FTE. The total FTE counts for teaching staff must be reported to the nearest hundredth, with an EXPLICIT decimal (e.g., 59.20).

An individual working at multiple schools within a district will use total employment within each school as a basis for FTE for each school and will appear in FTE totals for each school whether the individual is employed. An inidividual may be included in the FTE counts of multiple schools and/or districts.

New LEAs that are charter schools will show as having 100% inexperienced personnel for three years.

Leaders are defined by CPI job codes 610 and 615.

Building Codes that have changed due to opening, closing, or changing physical locations may appear as discrepancies between school-level data and district-level data.
