Inexperienced Teachers (Count)

"Inexperienced" is defined as having less than four consecutive years being reported as a teacher. Teachers are reported in terms of an individual's employment (part-time or full-time) at a school as captured through Fall and Spring CPI data collections.

An individual working at multiple schools will be counted at each school employed. At school-level, an individual may be included in the counts of multiple schools. At district-level, and individual will be counted once within any district worked. Individuals working at multiple schools and/or multiple districts will be counted once within the state.

Teachers are defined by CPI job code 080-199, excluding:

  • 145 (Hospital Homebound)
  • 155 (Adult Education)
  • 156 (Other Instruction Provider)
  • 157 (Other Instructional Provider)

Building Codes that have changed due to opening, closing, or changing physical locations may appear as discrepancies between school-level data and district-level data.
