Prior to beginning her work with GOSA, she was an Evaluation System Specialist and the Teacher Induction Coordinator for the Georgia Department of Education. Heather was also the Director of Certified Employment and Lead Professional Learning Coordinator for the Savannah-Chatham County School System.

Heather taught elementary school in Dawson County and in Savannah. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds a bachelor and master degrees from North Georgia College and State University and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Sarasota. She lives in Savannah.
