The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) & the Georgia Department of Education have launched the Georgia Broadband Initiative, offering a statewide map of free public WiFi spots. “When COVID-19 hit, we realized it would highlight the need for connectivity,” said Deana Perry of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. “Suddenly you have the need to telework, the need for telemedicine. Certainly, the continuity of learning.”

News outlets, organizations, and individuals across the state have assisted in spreading the word about the mapping project to their local communities.
