After retiring from K-12 education where she served as teacher, coach, school and district leader, and superintendent, Laine joined GOSA in 2019 as a Regional Leadership Coach where she supported school leaders until 2021. In January 2021, Laine began serving as Director of Teacher and Leader Support and Development with the Georgia Department of Education. She has also served as Senior Director in Georgia for Cognia, Inc.

Laine earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University, a Master's degree in Science Education from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University. Additionally, Laine has served as an adjunct instructor at two regional universities for more than two decades.
