Lori was the Executive Director for Great Promise Partnership (GPP), a program for at-risk high school students and workforce development which started in 2012. In July 2021, GPP officially became an initiative of the Georgia Department of Education as part of Work-based Learning in the Career, Technical, Agricultural Education Department. 

Prior to GPP, Lori was the Learn and Serve Coordinator for the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism and before that a Field Operations Specialist for the not-for-profit Communities in Schools of Georgia.

Lori started her career in education as a public high school teacher in Chicago and Atlanta. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Education at DePaul University in Chicago. Lori has two children and currently lives in Decatur, Georgia.
