Research, Evaluation, & Auditing
GOSA serves as the reporting and accountability agency for education in Georgia. As such, it is charged by law (O.C.G.A. §20-14-25) with inspecting academic records of P-16 schools to ensure that education institutions are faithful to performance accountability requirements.
GOSA publishes periodic analyses of topics relevant to education in Georgia. Education updates may be original analyses of raw data, discussions of new, high-profile national reports and studies, explanations of descriptive data that are already available, or a combination of all three.
GOSA works with external and internal researchers to analyze and report on the effectiveness of educational programs and the status of student learning in Georgia. GOSA publishes evaluation reports for a variety of grants and innovative programs.
GOSA works with researchers in the field to conduct more in-depth investigations on education topics. These research reports explore questions regarding student achievement from preschool through postsecondary education.
