For the past 5 years, the Governors Honors Program (GHP) has conducted local workshops for new and returning coordinators. GHP coordinators are teachers, counselors and/or administrators for districts (public) and schools (private). Coordinators are tasked with identifying gifted and talented students and nominating them for GHP. How a coordinator chooses nominees varies from district or school and can range from teacher referrals to district-wide competitions. The coordinator workshop is a strong start for new coordinators as an introduction to the program and a great way for returning coordinators to learn about changes for the upcoming year.
